Giclées
Giclées are the highest quality reproductions of original paintings. Their faithfulness to the
originals has created a new niche in the art marketplace.
In the Giclée process, state-of-the-art digital image enhancement is used instead of traditional
photography. A fine stream of ink - more than 4 million droplets per second is sprayed onto
archival art paper or canvas. The 'Iris Equipoise' inks that are used are extremely lightfast
and rich in colour and are unmatched by any other printing method. The artist's colour approval
and input are essential for creating the final custom setting for each print.
An added feature of this digital reproduction method is that due to the printing being done
directly on the archival paper or canvas, the prints can be hand-embellished, giving the artist
freedom to create and experiment beyond the original piece of art. It is also possible to
personalize the image, adding to the value of the reproduction for both the artist and the client.
